Note Card Time Saving Tip March 30, 2016 11:21 6 Comments
I know this task can sound overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be! Did you know you can print directly on our flat cards with a basic printer? This is such a time saver!
I created a Word template with what I wanted the anniversary and birthday cards to say, and at the beginning of each month I print these out and personally sign them. You can even add a personal note. Technology cannot replace a personal touch. After I mail the anniversary card, I make sure follow up with a phone call.
How to set up a template in word:
Step 1: Open a new Word Document and select "File, Page Setup"
Step 2: When you open "Page Setup", then select "Manage Custom Sizes" at the bottom.
Step 3: Add a new custom size by selecting the plus sign in the bottom left. Double click "Untitled" to name your new custom size. I named mine a6 Card, (this refers to the card size). This setting will stay in Word so you can select it for every card you want to print that's the same size. If you don't name it, it will be listed as "Untitled."
Step 4: Type in your card size. Our cards are 6.25x4.5. I left my margins 0 but you can customize this as well. Select ok, and your page will be ready to type in.
If need be, adjust your tabs in the ruler. See below.
When you are ready, you can print. Each printer is different, so you may need to play around with your printer settings to get it to print correctly.
Once you have your template set up, it's ready to go for the next month.
This should be a great time saver for you, it has been for me!
